2021 Ford F-150
October 12 2021, Stockfish Ford
When you’ve sold the best-selling vehicle in North America for over 50 years, there’s a lot of pressure to keep people happy. So, when Ford redesigned its popular F-150 pickup truck last year, the pressure was on. Luckily, Ford did not try to change a winning recipe. Instead, the automaker took the last Ford F-150, spoke with owners, figured out what needed to be improved, then went to work. The result is an F-150 truck that is just as capable and powerful as the outgoing model and even more so, but with vast improvements in terms of comfort and technology.
The 2021 Ford F-150 comes in three versions, regular cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew, and makes extensive use of aluminum, including an aluminum body. It is built on a fully-boxed steel frame and there are six powertrains available. All these engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic. There is a 3.3 L base V6 or a 5 litre V8, and there are two turbocharged V6 engines, 2.7 L and 3.5 L EcoBoost.
The big news is the addition of a new hybrid powertrain. Essentially, a 3.5 L EcoBoost V6 and 10-speed automatic is paired with a 35-kW electric motor that gets its power from a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. This engine delivers remarkable performance along with an impressive towing capacity. It can also be used to charge tools on the job site thanks to a 7.2-kW onboard charger.
Inside, the all-new Ford F-150 has gotten quite a bit refined. There is an available digital instrument cluster, impressive features such as a worktable built into the centre console, and a larger available 12-inch centre touchscreen. Give us a call today to learn more about the new F-150.
